She wants to make sure that she doesn't catch an STD, which makes it safe for you to be with her. By her telling you that she wants to wait, lets you know that she's not sleeping around on you, and the risk of contracting an STD will be very low. Waiting until your married to have sex with your girlfriend tells her that you respect her values and morals.
