Hitachi 42HDF52 42-inch UltraVision Plasma HDTV

Company Overview

Hitachi was founded in 1910 as an electrical repair shop. Today, it is one of the leading manufacturers in new technology. Hitachi is the oldest member of the Hitachi group and consists of three factories. The oldest of the Hitachi factories (Yamatte Works) is known as the ancestral home of Hitachi, Ltd. For the last hundred years, Hitachi Ltd has been at the forefront of modern technology.

Product Overview

The 42" Plasma HDTV is elegantly designed with a titanium and black bezel finish. Utilizing advanced Hitachi plasma technology, it delivers an unparalleled smooth cinematic experience for home theater. ALiS technology produces greater detail to create a brighter and more film-like image. The 42" Plasma HDTV is sleek, ultra-thin and delivers a high quality plasma performance.

Plasma Display

Until recently, the superior brightness, faster response time, greater color spectrum, and wider viewing angle of color plasma video displays made them the product of choice when compared with LCD TVs. Plasma TVs are one of the most popular forms of display for HDTV flat panel displays.

Improvements in LCD technology have narrowed the technological gap between plasma TVs and LCD TVs. The lower weight, falling prices, higher available resolution, and lower electrical power consumption of LCDs make them competitive against plasma displays in the television set market. The lifetime of the latest generation of plasma displays is about 60,000 hours. Sixty thousand hours will last about 27 years if the TV is used 6 hours of use per day.
