Timeshare ownership is an attractive vacation option. There are numerous pros associated with a timeshare ownership vacations. One pro of timeshare ownership is knowing that you will have a place to go every year to spend your vacation. Since vacations often get booked up in advance, it is a great benefit to have an ownership in a week’s vacation and be confident that you have a place to spend your vacation during that week. Another pro of timeshare ownership is the ability to plan ahead. Since individuals often have to take off from work, find someone to look after the kids while they are gone, etc., knowing what time of year your vacation will take place on an annual basis is a good thing to have in your back pocket.

Timeshare ownership is also a great way to meet new people and create lasting friendships along the way. For many timeshare properties, owners who buy a timeshare there often use the timeshare themselves each and every year. This makes it possible for people to get to know one another and know that they will see each other the next year at the same time. It is a comfort to vacation at a place where everyone knows your name.

For those who do not wish to use their timeshare at one location every year, they are often able to trade the timeshare for that year and go to another location within the timeshare company’s database. One must trade their current timeshare week for another location of the same desirability level or less. This can often make trading a difficult factor for those who have a less desirable timeshare week.

Lastly, those who own timeshares may like the fact that they see some of the same people at the timeshare each year however there are also those who do not like this attribute. For those latter types of people, the fact that they have to see all the same people each year may be a con in relation to timeshare ownership.
