What is Surfing? Surfing is an activity that involves riding on or along (a wave) on a surfboard. One of the best cross training methods for surfing is swimming. Most of your surfing time will be spent paddling rather than riding waves. Benefits of Surfing? Surfing is a great fitness activity. Surfing provides aerobic and anaerobic components. It requires the surfer to work the upper body by stroking through the water, to get out on the waves and balance the legs and lower body to stand and ride the wave into a shore.
