Quiet Sex - Tips on How to Have Sex Quietly
by Kim Hess

Trying to be quiet while having sex if you’re not the silent type can be fun and exciting. To enjoy quiet and discrete sex when sharing a home with other adults or children, keep these tips in mind.

  • Play music –Music will serve as a sound muffler if you can’t prevent yourself from creating sound. Music can also add to the romance.
  • Do it quickly – You must be ready to do it as quickly as possible. While pretending to be sleeping, do your foreplay longer than usual. Longer foreplay will help create hot, lustful sex that can be quick but satisfying.
  • Turn the volume up on the TV – Sounds from the TV also act like a noise buffer and are more natural. Also, some people like to watch the TV with the volume up high so it will be less obvious than having music on.
  • Try in unusual places – This may be very risky but if you are sure you can do it quickly as possible, an unusual place (basement, garage, laundry room, wine cellar) can be an exciting and sound proof place for your quick sex. Showers are also good because the noise from the water is an excellent buffer. Make sure to create a distraction so no one will come to look for you.  Choose your unusual place ahead of time so you can spend more time enjoying yourself and less time looking for a good place.
  • Do it on the floor – If you have sex on the floor, you don’t have to worry about the bed making noise. You can also cover your mouth with a handkerchief or bite on a pillow or a blanket if you need to let out the surge that runs through you. Do not bite your partner to keep yourself from screaming.

Remember that having others in the house, does not have to stop you from continuing a fun, exciting, sex life!
