Pros and cons of online dating
by John A. Roberts
Online dating is a very popular way to meet a match. Individuals who sign up on online dating services typically provide information about themselves to attract the kind of women they want to meet. Online dating can turn out to be fun and fulfilling, however, there is also a bad side to it. Here are some pro's and con's to online dating.
Pros of online dating
- You are almost guaranteed to find a match. There are millions of women online throughout the world trying to find true love just like you.
- Online dating can be easy, fast and convenient. Online dating works well for a person who doesn't have time to go out and meet people. It is very easy to use. If you are interested in a woman, you can just send her an email, a wink, or a smile. You can also investigate the person before you start some sort of relationship, and if you are not interested, you can break off contact without having to tell them in person.
- You can meet people based on what your interests. Online dating gives you the opportunity to meet people based on their career, characteristics, quirks, personality, qualifications, looks or any other criteria you may think is important. It is often difficult to go out to a club and meet someone with the same interests you enjoy. By using an online dating service, you can go through profiles and contact women who are interested in things that you like, and you can weed out those who aren't interested in things that are important to you.
- No fear of rejection. A lot of guys tend to be shy when it comes to women for fear of rejection. Online dating can ease and soften your fears. You can send her an email telling her how much you like her, and if she doesn't write you back, you can just move to the next profile.
Cons of online dating
- Dishonesty. Some people who use online dating services are not honest and may not provide accurate information about themselves. These people are not afraid of telling you lies because it's easy for them to change their contact information.
- Online scams. Some people use online dating services just to get people's email and use them for scams.
- Paying for a membership on a site that doesn't have enough members. We all hate shelling out money for things that are not useful to us. Online dating has no exceptions. Do research about the site, then make your decision on if you want to use their service.
- Losing your ability to communicate with women outside the internet. May people fall into a groove when dating online, and it can affect the way they approach women off the net. You may lose your ability to to notice women around you in the real world, while only focusing their attention on virtual friends.
