Grilled Smothered Turkey
Ingredients:
- 4 boneless turkey breasts
- Salt, pepper, and desired seasonings to taste
- Butter
- 8 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 1 green pepper, chopped, about 6 ounces
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped, 2 1/2 ounces
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 8 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Flatten turkey, if desired; sprinkle with desired seasonings.
- Grill until done to your taste.
- Meanwhile, sauté mushrooms, green pepper, onion and garlic in butter until tender.
- Place grilled turkey on a baking sheet, cover with vegetables, then smother with cheese.
- Bake at 350 degrees F about 5 minutes, until cheese is melted or microwave for a minute or so.
Homestyle Turkey Bake
Ingredients:
- 4 sheets heavy duty foil, 12" x 18"
- 4 boneless turkey breasts
- 1/2 pound mushrooms, sliced
- 2 medium zucchini, sliced about 1/4"-1/2" thick, 14 ounces
- 2-3 green onions, cut in 1" pieces, optional
- Salt and pepper
- Herbs and spices, to taste
- 4-5 pats butter
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 450º F.
- Put 1 breast in center of each piece of foil.
- Season both sides of meat.
- Cover with vegetables; season to taste.
- Place pats of butter on top of the vegetables.
- Fold up foil to form packets, leaving room for circulation.
- Bake 450º for 20-24 minutes.
Almost Bourbon Turkey
Ingredients:
- 8-10 boneless turkey thighs
- 5 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 5 tablespoons water
- 1/2 teaspoon molasses
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1/8 teaspoon liquid smoke
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Put turkey in a gallon zipper bag.
- Mix remaining ingredients and pour over turkey.
- Seal bag, place in a baking pan and marinate in refrigerator several hours or overnight, turning bag occasionally.
- Cook turkey on grill or bake in a 9x13" pan at 350º for about an hour, turning turkey over every 10 minutes, until turkey is done.
