Mama's Kitchen Dilemmas

Inexpensive Ovens



 

Mesquite BBQ Tofu

 Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 lbs of tofu, cubed
  • 1/2 cup of flour
  • 1 bottle of BBQ sauce
  • 3 tbsp of olive oil

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Batter the tofu in flour and sauté it in the olive oil until brown.
  3. Remove from the pan and place in a baking dish.
  4. Pour the BBQ sauce over top to tofu and mix it well.
  5. Place in a 400-degree oven for 15 minutes.

 

 

 

Sweet and Sour Tofu

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of orange juice
  • 1 lb of tofu, cubed
  • 1/2 cup of flour
  • 4 tbsp of olive oil
  • 1 lime
  • 1 tbsp of sugar
  • 1 tsp of soy

Directions:

  1. Batter the tofu in the flour.
  2. Simmer the tofu in the olive oil and sprinkle the lime juice, sugar and soy sauce over top.
  3. Pour the orange juice in and simmer until the tofu gets gooey.

 

 

 

Honey Tofu and Cheese Bake

 Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups of feta, crumbled
  • 1 cup of rice, cooked
  • 1/4 cup of honey
  • 1 lb of tofu, cubed
  • 2 tbsp of olive oil
  • 1/2 cup of black long grain rice
  • salt and pepper

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Grease a glass baking dish.
  3. Add to both rices. On top of the rice, add the tofu and feta.
  4. Sprinkle over top the olive oil and honey.
  5. Add a dash of salt and pepper.
  6. Place the baking dish in a 380-degree oven for 16-20 minutes.
