Classic French Onion Soup


  • 10-15 large white onions, sliced thinly
  • 3 tbsp of olive oil
  • 3cups of water
  • 3 cups of condensed beef consumme
  • 3/4 cup of white wine
  • 2 tsp of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup of Parmesan
  • 1 loaf of French bread, cubed
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tbsp of flour
  • 1 crock pot


  1. Sautee the onions in the olive oil for 5 minutes.
  2. Add the white wine and simmer for 4 minutes.
  3. Add the white wine mixture to the crock pot with the remaining ingredients (except for the Parmesan and bread).
  4. Simmer in the crock pot for 7-8 hours.
  5. Serve with the Parmesan and bread floating on top the soup.

Serves: 7 persons




Egg Drop Soup


  • 4 tbsp of ginger, freshly grated
  • 5 cups of chicken stock
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tbsp of soy sauce
  • 4 eggs whites
  • salt and pepper


  1. Add all the ingredients, (except for the egg whites), into a big pot.
  2. Bring the ingredients to a boil and reduce the heat.
  3. Simmer for 15 minutes.
  4. Beat in the egg whites.
  5. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Serves: 4-5 persons
