Apple Butter Custard Sauce
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of milk, scalded
- 3 cups of apples, peeled, cored and boiled
- 3/4 cup of sugar
- 2 tbsp of lemon juice
- 1 tsp of cinnamon
- 1/3 cup of corn starch
- 1 3/4 tbsp of butter
- 1 tsp of vanilla
Directions:
- Mash all the ingredients together in a pan.
- Bring them to a rolling simmer and reduce the heat.
- Stir constantly until the ingredients are thick and well blended.
- Serve hot or cold.
Apple Sauce
Ingredients:
- 3 cups of tart apples, peeled, cored and boiled
- 1 tsp of cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp of crushed clove
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1/4 cup of apple juice
- 2 tbsp of butter
Directions:
- Bring the ingredients to a boil and mash them together.
- Reduce the heat and simmer on low for 10 minutes.
- Add more apple juice if the sauce begins to burn or is too thick
Banana Sauce
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of bananas, mashed
- 4 tbsp of sugar
- 1/2 cup of cream
- 1 1/2 tbsp of flour or cornstarch
- 2 tbsp of corn syrup
Directions:
- Set the bananas aside.
- Combine the sugar, cream, flour and corn syrup.
- Mix well and bring mixture to a boil.
- Reduce the heat and add the bananas.
- Simmer on medium-low for 10-15 minutes.
