Peppermint Pound Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of milk
  • 3 sticks of butter
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 3 cups of flour
  • 3 cups of sugar
  • 1 tsp of peppermint extract
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Combine all the ingredients in an electric mixer.
  3. Blend ingredients on high for 5 minutes.
  4. Pour the cake batter into greased cake pans
  5. Bake cake in a 350-degree oven for 1 hour 20 minutes.
  6. Cool and frost if desired.

 

 

 

Fig Cake

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of fig preserves
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp of baking soda
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1 tsp of cinnamon
  • 1 tsp of nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup of buttermilk
  • 1 cup pf chopped pecans
  • 1 cup pf prunes, chopped
  • 1 cup of vegetable oil
  • 2 cups of wheat flour

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Combine all the ingredients in an electric mixer.
  3. Blend ingredients on high for 5 minutes.
  4. Pour the cake batter into greased cake pans.
  5. Bake cake in a 350-degree oven for 45 minutes.
  6. Cool and frost if desired.
