Mama's Kitchen Dilemmas



Fudge Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup of butter
  • 1 tsp of almond extract
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1/2 tsp of baking soda
  • 1 bag of Hershey’s chocolate kisses
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 cup of chopped walnuts

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Melt the chocolate kisses.
  3. Add to the melted chocolate the eggs, butter almond extract and sugar.
  4. Add the flour, baking soda and walnuts.
  5. Place heaping tablespoon-size scoops of dough onto a cookie sheet.
  6. Bake in a 350-degree oven for 11 minutes.

Makes: 26 cookies

 

 

 

Cinnamon Drops

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of crushed walnuts
  • 1/2 cup of butter
  • 2 tsp of cinnamon
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp of baking powder
  • 1 1/4 cup of flour
  • 3 tbsp of powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp of salt
  • 1 tsp of crush cloves
  • 3 tbsp of brown sugar

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Mix together the flour, baking powder and salt.
  3. Add the egg, powdered sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla and mix well.
  4. Refrigerate the dough for two hours.
  5. Form the dough into small balls and roll them in the cinnamon and walnuts.
  6. Place dough balls on a cookie sheet.
  7. Bake dough balls in a 375-degree oven for 14 minutes.
