Crockpot Borscht


  • 4 –6 short ribs
  • 1 cup of ketchup
  • 6 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 5 beets, peeled and chopped
  • 2 quarts of water
  • 1 cabbage, chopped
  • 4 tbsp of lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp of salt


  1. Simmer all the ingredients in the crockpot for 24 hours on low heat.
  2. Tear the meat away from the bones and discard them.




Crockpot Style BBQ Pork


  • 3 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 1/2 onions, chopped
  • 3 cups of water
  • 3 pounds of pork cuts
  • 2 1/2 cups of BBQ sauce
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1 tsp of hot pepper flakes


  1. Combine all the ingredients in the crockpot.
  2. Simmer on a low heat for 9 hours.




Crockpot Style BBQ Ribs


  • 3 1/2 lbs of spare ribs
  • 2 cups of red wine
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 bottle of BBQ sauce
  • 2 cups of Ketchup
  • 1 tbsp of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 tbsp of chili sauce
  • 3 tbsp of mustard
  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar
  • salt and pepper to taste


  1. Soak the ribs in red wine overnight.
  2. Drain them in the morning and place them in the crockpot with the remaining ingredients.
  3. Simmer on low for 7 1/2 hours.
