Tennessee Sweet Tea
Ingredients:
- 1 gallon water
- 3 family sized tea bags
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 trays ice
Directions:
- Bring water to boil in a saucepan, put in tea bags (minus paper and string)
- Bring almost to a boil. Remove from heat, let sit for 30 minutes.
- Remove tea bags (squeeze to get all tea out first)
- Add sugar and bring almost to a boil, stirring to dissolve sugar.
- Remove from heat and let cool.
- Pour tea mixture into 1 gallon pitcher, add 2 trays of ice, and water to fill.
- Stir well and serve in tall glasses under a big shade tree.
Teatotal Cooler
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups boiling water
- ¼ cup lemon juice
- 1 32 oz bottle lemon-lime soda, cold
- 1 ½ tbsp. instant black tea
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup orange juice
Directions:
- Place tea bags or loose tea in bowl.
- Pour boiling water over tea.
- Add sugar and stir until all is dissolved.
- Put ice cubes in a 2 qt. pitcher.
- Pour juices and hot tea over ice.
- Mix well.
- Stir in soda.
Mint Tea (punchbowl beverage)
Ingredients:
- 3 cups boiling water
- fresh mint
- 1 family tea bag
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup orange juice
- ¼ cup lemon juice
- ½ gallon cold water
- 1 liter club soda
- orange slices
Directions:
- Put tea and mint in large punch bowl.
- Pour in boiling water and let sit about 10 minutes.
- Remove tea bags and mint, squeezing out excess tea into bowl.
- Stir in sugar until dissolved.
- Add orange juice and water and stir well.
- Add club soda and stir well.
- Garnish with orange slices
