Mama's kitchen dilemmas

Honey limeade


  • 5 c. water
  • 1 c. lime juice
  • 2/3 c. Splenda
  • 2 tbsp. honey
  • 2 limes, sliced


  1. In 2 quart pitcher combine water, lime juice, Splenda and honey.
  2. Stir well.
  3. Serve over ice and with lime slices.




Sugar-free hot cocoa


  • 1/4 c. instant non-fat milk powder
  • 2 tsp. coffee creamer
  • 2 1/2 tsp. Hershey's cocoa (unsweetened)
  • 2 packs granulated sugar substitute (Sweet and Low, Equal or Splenda)


  1. Mix ingredients well in an 8 ounce mug.
  2. Add boiling water to fill cup and stir.




Homemade hot chocolate


  • ¼ c. boiling water
  • 1/3 c. chocolate syrup
  • 4 c. skim milk
  • ½ c. coffee liqueur
  • fat-free whipped topping for garnish


  1. Stir together ¼ c. boiling water and chocolate syrup in a medium saucepan; add milk and stir until blended.
  2. Cook over medium heat until thoroughly heated (5 to 8 minutes)
  3. Stir in liqueur and top with whipped cream if desired.

Serves 4 to 6 people
