Mama's kitchen dilemmas




Fruity Summer Cooler

Ingredients:

  • 6 ice cubes
  • 1/2 cup cubed cantaloupe
  • 1/2 cup pineapple chunks
  • 1/2 cup cranberry juice
  • 1/3 cup sliced banana
  • 1/4 cup pineapple juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 3/4 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon grated lemon peel

Directions:

  1. Place all ingredients in a blender; cover and blend until smooth.

 

 

 

Melon-ade

Ingredients:

  • 7 cups cubed and seeded watermelon
  • 1 can (6 oz. size) frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • Small watermelon wedges, for garnish

Directions:

  1. Spread watermelon cubes in a single layer on a baking pan.
  2. Freeze 1-1/2 to 2 hours.
  3. Place thawed concentrate in a blender container. Gradually add icy watermelon cubes, blending until slushy. (If necessary, add a small amount of water).
  4. Add sugar.
  5. Garnish each serving with a watermelon wedge.

 

 

 

Citrus Soother

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups orange juice
  • 1 cup grapefruit juice
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 cinnamon stick -- 3 inches long

Directions:

  1. In a medium saucepan combine orange juice, grapefruit juice, honey, and cinnamon.
  2. Heat, stirring occasionally, just until warm (do not boil).
  3. Remove cinnamon with slotted spoon; discard.
  4. Serve warm.
  5. Great when you have a cold!
