Light mulled cider

Ingredients:

  • 1 tub Crystal Light Citrus Blend Sugar Free drink mix
  • 1 gallon apple cider
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 tsp. whole cloves
  • 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg

Directions:

  1. Stir ingredients in crock pot or large saucepan over low heat 20 minutes or until thoroughly heated; do not boil.
  2. Remove cinnamon sticks and cloves before serving.
  3. Yield: 16 (1 cup) servings.

 

 

 

Spiced cinnamon cider

Ingredients:

  • 2 qts. Apple cider
  • ½ c. molasses
  • 4 orange slices, cut in half
  • 12 whole cloves
  • 2 (2-in.) cinnamon sticks
  • ¼ c. lemon juice
  • 1 small box Red Hots candy

Directions:

  1. Bring cider and next 4 ingredients to a boil in a large saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally; reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
  2. Remove cinnamon sticks and cloves with a slotted spoon.
  3. Transfer cider mixture to a slow cooker and add lemon juice and Red Hots.
  4. Cook on high for until Red Hots are melted.
  5. Once Red Hots have melted, maintain a low heat by turning slow cooker to low setting.

Serves 9 persons
