My little twins

My twin girls were born at 30 weeks. One weighed 3 lbs 7 oz and was 17 inches long. Her sister weighed in at 1 lb 10 oz. They both ended up in the NICU unit. One was on partial respirator, the other ended up with an infection in her blood stream. She remained in the hospital for 2 1/2 months while undergoing intraveinous antibiotics and needed to gain weight. She had lost down to 1 lb 6 oz. Her sister came home when she was almost a month old and was on the heart monitor.

I greatly appreciate all the little knitted caps that were made and given to them. I still have every one of those hats in their baby boxes.

My girls are now almost 20 years old. One is in college and her sister, the smallest one, remains at home job hunting. I will always remember the little caps, the love shown to them both at the hospital by the wonderful nurses that continued to visit them long after they left their unit.
