Dating After 60- Expectations Women Have of Men

Dating after the age of 60 can be more challenging then dating when you were younger but it is still every bit as possible to find a date and to find love even as you get closer to the end of your working career. More and more websites are coming to understand that women and men over the age of 60 still find themselves attracted to the opposite sex and still desire the companionship of others who share their interests and goals.

Women expect many of the same things of men as they did when they were younger only women who are 60 plus tend to have even higher expectations as they are not willing to settle for less than stellar behavior such as disrespect, impoliteness and other less than admirable personality traits or behaviors.

Women who have been out of the dating game for a while may wonder how much the rules of dating have changed. This is perfectly normal, whether it has been 10, 20 or 30 years since you went out on a date. The questions abound for women in regards to dating such as: Who should pay on the first date? And the second and the third? Is it all right to call a man or should you wait for him to call you? How soon is too soon to invite your date over to your place for supper and perhaps more? How can you let a man know you are interested in him without appearing too eager, too desperate or too forward? How do you let a man know that you are attracted to him without going overboard?

The above questions are never easy to answer, even when a woman is young but the rules do not tend to be as stringent when a woman is 60 years and older. Older women have more freedom and a greater sense of independence and empowerment that takes some of the pressure off. But of course dating does have a tendency to cause a case of the jitters for any woman. No woman has all of the answers so the best rule to go by is to make decisions based on what feels right to you and let your dating situation guide your actions.

Women expect men to ask them out for a first date and to be as gentlemanly as possible such as walking the woman to her door at the end of the evening and taking the initiative when it comes to giving her a kiss goodnight. Most women also expect that a man will pay on the first date. Beyond that enjoy yourself and try not to get hemmed in by too many rules. Ladies, it is always best to avoid certain heavy topics on a first date such as religion, politics and money until you have gotten to know your date much better. These are not the best dinnertime conversations any way.
