I like Bush

I met a really cute guy at a wedding who seemed to be having the time of his life dancing all night. When he asked for my number so we could go out sometime, I was thrilled. A few weeks later we scheduled our first date, and it was decided that he would come pick me up.

As soon as I went outside to meet him, I noticed that his car had a political bumper sticker on it (Bush 2000) that was completely opposite my leanings. Now,there are those that simply vote a certain way, and THEN there are those who need to try to convert everyone to their way of thinking.

I mentioned that I disapproved of his sticker, so then he spent 10 minutes of our looooong drive to the restaurant trying to tell me how wrong my thinking was. I finally told him "Let's agree to disagree and talk about something else." He didn't seem to hear me, because he lectured nonstop the rest of the way and when we finally got to our dinner spot, I was already exhausted.

I spent the rest of the dinner listening to him and couldn't wait to go home. When we were done, I insisted on paying my half because I knew I never wanted to see him again, and then told him to take me home instead of going on to the movies like we had originally planned. The clueless guy seemed stunned, and while gesturing to his bumper sticker, said "I hope it's not because of THAT. That would really make me disappointed in you." So I responded with a simple, "Well, sometimes life is disappointing...good night."
