Mama's True Confessions: Deadeye

"I feel like a freak of nature. The muscles in my left eye has deteriorated in such a fashion that no matter which way I look, my eye stares straight ahead. I've had an operation but it only partially corrected the problem. It wouldn't be so bad, but now my husband has started calling me "deadeye" and I don't like it one bit." Bev, Ohio.

"My mother was the town whore when she was a young woman and now all the older men in town stare at me like I am her. They all say that I look just like my mother when she was young." Mary, Alabama.

"My dad left me, my two brothers, and my mom when I was in the eight grade. Although we saw him regularly and he was there for us, I always felt that he didn't love me. He died last year and I can't get over how happy I am that he is dead." Louise, Maryland.

"I was in a car accident that left my face all mangled and cut up. Before the accident, I was a somewhat pretty young lady with a lot of boyfriends. But now, no boys will even look at me and I don't know what to do." Sharon, New York.

"Someone told me that my husband is having an affair with my best friend but I don't believe them. My husband is a well respected minister and I know that women in the congregation come on to him, but he would never do that to me." Dianne, South Carolina.

"My grandson, who is 7, told me that may daughter and son-in-law said that I am an old woman who needs to be put in a nursing home. I am angry and hurt." Bonnie, California.

"I met a man while on a trip to Hawaii last summer and he and I have been talking since then. He lives in another state and I have been to visit him twice. He has been to visit me, too. We always sleep in separate beds but I would like for him to sleep with me." Debbie, Arizona.

"I just recently found out that my husband has three children by another woman. These children were born before I met him but he didn't see fit to tell me. We have two children of our own and now this woman is taking him to court to make him pay child support. I feel betrayed and humiliated and he can't understand why." Josie, California.

"My husband doesn't know this but I don't like his mother. She is a conniving know it all and you can't tell her anything. My husband just got a new position at his company that requires us to live in another state. His mother is devastated but I am a happy camper." Rose, Illinois.

"I am baffled. My girlfriend just married her ex husband's brother and is pregnant. A mutual friend told me that the baby is by her ex husband. The ex husband is aware of this but his brother is not. Is something squirrely with this woman or am I loosing it?" Sheila, Massachusetts.

"I love going to cemeteries because I can pick flowers and not have to pay for them. Is that awful." Mary jane, Indiana.
