Fought Ovarian Cancer Hi, my name is Connie, and I was diagnosed with Stage IIIC Ovarian Cancer in October of 1997. I had a complete hysterectomy, 6 months of chemotherapy, of which my hair fell out, and since then, I have been cancer free. My CA-125 blood tests have stayed way down. Examples are as such: 11, 6, right now 9.6 (as of May 2002). I believe it all depends on the "Spirit" of the person affected. I'm not a fighter, but when this came into my life, I became one VERY fast! My "Spirit" was the strength of my belief in God and that He would take care of me, and the other was just that I HAD to fight it, because burying my head in the sand and not talking about cancer would NOT make it go away! I told my doctor,"You can't cry over spilled milk. It's here, and I'll fight it!" He told me to keep that frame of mind and I did. I feel it helped God to heal me! MIND OVER MATTER! I would tell anybody out there to get that firm thought in their minds that THEY CAN fight and win any cancer! |
