Mono I am 16 years old, and I'm an athlete, playing Basketball and running Track seasonally. Last ball season, I became sick. My mother, father, and I thought it was just a cold. Well, that "cold" gradually and eventually turned into bronchitis, sinusitis, laryngitis, tonsillitis, and a little tendonitis on the side, all at the same time. During my games, I noticed that I was getting worn-out quicker, and I couldn't play as long as I normally did. My parents and Coach told me to take it easy before I got worse, but I don't like to quit or give up that easy, and I'm hard headed, so I didn't listen. Well, one night after a game, I woke up and went downstairs to go to the bathroom. On my way down the stairs, I became dizzy and almost passed out. I caught myself on the wall before I fell down the stairs. I got my mother out of bed and we went to the hospital. They informed me that I had Mono, and kept me overnight. Ironically, my gym teacher, found out a few weeks before that, that she had it.
