Migraine Pains

Why is it that no doctors really address the more disconcerting part of migraines, the pre-symptoms?

I have auras, the inability to put the right word with the right thing, insatiable hunger, and stroke like symptoms.  These things are of much bigger concern for me than the painful headaches.

I am very afraid that I will not know if it is a real stroke until it is too late.  I am over 35, female and on birth control, the only non-risk factor I have is I am not a smoker.

No doctors I have been to have really addressed my migraine pre-symptoms.  Most of the drugs out there are for the headaches themselves.  I COULD CARE LESS ABOUT A BAD HEADACHE!!!!

In this day and age, migraines or not, I have to keep going.  I have a job that has a lot of demands. I must be available to do my work at any time.

I have taught training classes with half my vision gone.  I have conducted business when I could barely hold a pen in my hand because it was numb. But what do the doctors try to do?  Put me on drugs that will make my head hurt less.

I am really frustrated these days because no matter what I read, no matter what I find on migraines... they are never addressing that my brain is seizing PRIOR to the painful headache.

Maybe someone has some insight...
