Me and My Diabetes Diabetes has consumed a large part of my life. Prick my skin. I've lived a normal life. If you want to call it that. Don't eat too much of this. Don't eat too much of that. People without diabetes don't realize how lucky they are. They can sit at the dinner table without worrying about how many portions of carbohydrates or sugar they are eating. If I eat too much sugar, I can go into a coma. I don't want to go into a coma. Parties are sometimes the worst situations for diabetes. There's tons of food and drink. I have to be extra careful at parties. Alcohol...one of man's greatest evils. Many people drink alcohol everyday. It is pure poison. I look at my friends poisoning themselves with alcohol. If they only knew what they were doing to their bodies. Diabetes isn't all that bad. It has taught me to take better care of my body. If you have it, be positive. You can lead a normal live. --Diabetic gal in Chicago
