I'm Not Worried About My Weight I'm a married 56 year old RN, who still works 4 nights a week. I am overall healthy, even though I have my aches (feet) and pains (hips while I sleep). I'm overweight at 230 lbs for a 5' 7" height. I take no med's, but have regular check-ups about once every 1-2 years. I see my dentist every six months. I have a mammogram and pap smear every 1-2 years. Both my parents died of cancer, and both had cardiac issues. I am Catholic, and I strongly believe in life after death. I see my life here as temporary, and have no intensions to do any aggressive treatments when my time comes. If it wasn't for my husband, children, and grandchildren, I would prefer to be a DNR right now. I'm an immigrant who came to the USA together with my husband in 1974. I remember how amazed I was to see drugstores full of over the counter medicine. Unbelievable! There may have been a bottle of Aspirin where I grew up, but I doubt it. I don't remember even receiving a pill for pain. My Mom's motto was: "Suffer in silence", together with: " Pain is good for the soul!!" My husband and I enjoy bike riding, camping, hiking, and our dogs and cats. Just wanted to share!
