Healthy Weight Range

Hi, I'm Sandy. My story is, I've been overweight for most of my life, even though I'm only twelve. I might seem a little young to be talking about losing weight, but I don't feel very young.

I grew up in a domestic violence drenched home. My dad is not supportive at all. He believes in the 'proper' way to lose weight. I find it hard to eat healthy, because my dad, as a cook, cooks unhealthy foods.

I try my best to eat a sensible diet. I asked my doctor about going on a diet, she said as long as it doesn't sound crazy. Over a few months, I forgot about what she had said.

I started eating loads and loads of fries when I hung out with my best friends. I gained a whopping 20 pounds. Then, I decided I wanted to go back to the doctor. She said I had gained most of my weight from being tall, and not because of fat.

So, from that day on which was a month later, I started the Special K diet. I lost 3 pounds the first week. By the third week I was 11 pounds lighter. I decided to ditch the diet and eat portion controlled meals. I eat plenty of veggies and I limit my meats and unhealthy fats. I have lost another 5 pounds. I am now in a healthy weight range for my age.
