Little by Little

My parents always told me to eat right and exercise daily, and if I did that, I wouldn't get fat.

I was overweight my whole life until about the age of 12. I went from 180 lbs to 100 lbs in two months, and I was only 5'2. Instead of my parents being concerned about my new looks they instead encouraged it.

When I was 13, I had my first abusive boyfriend. We dated until I was 16. He sexually, verbally, and physically abused me. After we met I started gaining my weight back. He would call me fat all the time and slam me against the walls in his house (mind you he was much older and much bigger than me). Eventually, we broke up and I became so obsessed with my eating that I developed bulimia.

I became very jealous of everyone who was around me and I was very tired from running 12 miles everyday. I went to my counselor at school and told her I needed help and I had been suffering since I was 13.

My mom sent me to a rehab and now I'm a year into my recovery. Everyday is a challenge, but little by little I will get better.
