Those That Mind Don't Matter! I was never one of the "pretty, popular girls" and I am still bitter about it to this day. I was smarter than most girls my age, which only added insult to the injury. I can say that my pre-teen years were pure hell. If I tried to follow a new trend, they would call me a"wannabe;" if I tried being myself, I was a loser. There was no way I could please these monsters of teenage girls and I had given up. It was in my freshman year at high school that I discovered bulimia as a way to solve my problems. I dropped weight instantly and eventually stopped eating altogether. The same girls commented on how "great" I looked and asked me what I did. I have never felt more disgusted in my life. It was then and there that I decided I could not live under such vicious circumstances and I simply REFUSED to put myself through pain to please them. I got help through counciling and I can happily say that I have been bulimia-free for about 5 months how. Remember, be who you are and say what you feel because those who matter don't mind and those that mind don't matter.
