Tips on applying for the MamasHealth.com Scholarship
- Write complete sentences. This sounds like a 'no brainier' but many students submit essays that contain incomplete sentences.
- Submit everything that is asked for. Make sure that your application is complete. Incomplete submissions will not be considered.
- Type the essay. Typed essays are much easier to read than hand-written essays.
- Do not send extra materials. Please do not send extra materials. In the past, we have received photographs and letters of recommendation.
- Answer the essay question. Some students create their own question to write about. This is unacceptable.
- Spell check and proof read for grammatical errors.
- Reread your essay to make sure it makes sense. Consider asking a parent, teacher, or friend to read your application.
- Send the application as soon as you complete it. Applications received after the postmarked deadline will not be accepted.
- Don't be discouraged. We offer several awards a year. If you are turned down for an award apply for the next one.
- Keep copies of everything you send. If your application is misplaced, having copies will make it easier to resend your information quickly.
